I build apps
that feel right

30 years of design. Then in November 2024, I learned to build iOS apps with AI. Not by becoming a programmer — by learning to guide one.

I'm Peter — a designer who started building iOS apps at 53, not by learning to code from scratch, but by learning to work with AI.

I started my design career in 1996, fresh out of school with a passion for visual communication. For three decades, I've worked across print, digital, branding, and user experience design — crafting everything from corporate identities to digital experiences.

Then, in November 2024, I did something that scared me: I decided to build iOS apps. I didn't learn to code from scratch. I learned how to work with AI to bring my ideas to life. I learned enough Swift to understand what the AI was doing, to debug when things broke, and to guide the process. I'm not a programmer. I'm a designer who learned to leverage AI as a tool.

What I've learned

  • Keep learning, always. Only by learning more can you do more. The more you learn, the better you can guide AI — and the better your projects get.
  • Ask for help. The developer community is incredibly supportive. Don't struggle alone.
  • Age is irrelevant. What matters is curiosity and persistence.
